Speed of Light

What happens if we travel faster than the speed of light? The problem is that it’s totally physically impossible. It’s not possible to go faster than the speed of light, so says the laws of physics. We can’t possibly conclude what would happen if you imagine things in a hypothetical universe. Once you decide to ignore one physical law, you have to ignore them all.

Ok.. explain that shall we…

Both the energy and the mass of the object (or human or whatever you decided to speed up) increase to infinity as they approach the speed of light. They both just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger! WHAT? WHY? This means you would need and infinite amount of energy like that of a star to speed anything (besides subatomic particles) up to the speed of light. But see this all forward motion.. and into the future. How about stepping back into time? Here in lies the ever so popular time travel paradoxes.

Stop by next week for more…

Cosmic Strings

Cosmic strings are theoretical fault lines in the universe, defective links between different regions of space created in the moments after the Big Bang. They are defects in the fabric of the universe, a byproduct of the universe cooling in the first instants after the Big Bang, like thousands of small hairline fractures. They have no width or height, and are also incredibly dense. A string that’s just a mile long would weigh considerably more than Earth. They pack quite a gravitational pull on anything that passes near them, enabling objects attached to a cosmic string to travel at incredible speeds and benefit from time dilation. Yes!

Time Travel

“It doesn’t work anymore.” My father said.

“Did it ever?” I asked.

“Yes, it all did. This and every machine worked. They all worked. The scientists, the computer companies, the programmers, they all made it work. Guided by greed, hungry for fame, it’s hard to blame them. They couldn’t help but take a bite out of the forbidden apple. Many thought it impossible. They did it alright. They hit their goal.

Come on, let’s get out of here. This place no longer has any purpose. We have to find a place to make camp for the night. Our water is getting low and we are running out of daylight. We have to keep up with our guard watches, at least for a while” He replied.

“How long will that take?” I asked.

My father went on to say, “I don’t know. Many don’t even know how to start a camp fire. Many have never even spent a night outdoors. Without their cars and smart phones they are lost. It won’t be long before the food runs out, before the bottled water runs out. They will turn on each other for a loaf of moldy bread. They will kill each other off. We on the other hand, we know how to hunt and fish. We can and will live off the land. We’ll lay low and wait it out. It’s amazing! All it took was a single direct hit from a sun flare for it all to come tumbling down. Time travel… yep, they actually made it happen. We are back in the stone age”.

Don Kissee

Pretty Princess

When you date a photographer there are things you gain and things you loose. For instance your privacy is gone but you gain beautiful pictures of you in awkward poses.

There are times when I need stand ins to see what lens to use and where to shoot exactly. This particular June afternoon I needed to test out the field of flowers in city park. Kyle was not happy about posing with the daises but he did it anyway, and saved me hours of time when the acutaly day came for me to shoot there.

Larry the Lizard

I had this brief obsession with finding “weirdo’s” out on the street, and asking if I could take their picture and… 100% of the time they say yes!

This quirky fellow was one of my absolute favorites! I didn’t ask enough about him to be able to tell you more of a story unfortunately. All I know is that apparently he carries Larry the Lizard everywhere! I will tell you though, that I can spot awesomeness from a bazillion miles away, and this dude had “it”! Something I just can’t explain. I wanted to hang out with him all day, but I had to stay and take pictures of the skaters in the RedBull extreme sports show or whatever it was called.

I’ll post more photos of the weirdos and their stories in the days to come. Have a happy friday everyone!

New Era

I found myself here by accident. It wasn’t a road I needed to travel on. A one lane highway on my way to the BadLands. I stumbled upon this guy. I don’t know the story behind him, or anything other than the fact that he was HUGE and in the middle of fucking nowhere.
